Thank you, BTES!

Bristol Tennessee Essential Services visited Fairmount on January 18.  BTES Director of Engineering, Clayton Dowell, and Supervisor of Engineering, David Hacker, spoke to the students about what an electrical engineer does, how they influence our everyday lives, and why students might want to consider a career in engineering. Then, the engineers helped students make a “flashlight” using some everyday materials: batteries, LED lights, chewing gum, and tape. The students enjoyed being able to learn about electricity through this hands-on activity.

BTES also presented our 4th grade science teacher, Mrs. Kite with a gift to use in the classroom.  Mrs. Kite is very excited to be able to use her new electrical circuits kit and classroom pack of Buidling DC Circuits kit. Our 4th graders are very grateful to BTES for their kindness. We greatly appreciate their time as well. THANK YOU, BTES!
